New Clark City is a planned community currently undergoing development and is located within the Clark Special Economic Zone in the towns of Capas and Bamban at the Tarlac province, Philippines.[1] It has an area of approximately 9,450 hectares (23,400 acres) and will accommodate up to 1.2 million people. It is managed by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
Clark's new plan-Clark Green City
Clark’s new plan is Clark New Town located in the Clark Special Economic Zone, also known as Clark Green Town. This project is one of the important projects of "Build, Build, Build" proposed by President Duterte of the Philippines after he took office.
Clark Greentown covers a total area of approximately 9450 hectares and is expected to accommodate 1.2 million people.
The infrastructure of the newly planned Clark Greentown is gradually being improved. In July 2018, construction of the Clark New Town Expressway invested by the China Communications Construction and Third Aviation Administration officially started, with a total length of 12.05 kilometers.
In addition, Clark International Airport is also actively expanding, and is expected to be completed in 2020. The expanded Clark International Airport will receive approximately 12 million passengers per year, and the number of weekly flights will double to 240.
According to official sources, the Philippine government will invest at least 12 billion pesos to fund Clark for the construction of roads and bridges in the next two years.
The development of the Clark Greentown project will effectively relieve the squeezing force of the capital, Manila, with more people and less land. Since it is only a 2-hour drive from Manila, it is believed that more people will move to New Clark for development.
In the past two years, Udenna Group has also completed the master plan for the development of 177 hectares of high-quality real estate in the Clark Freeport Zone. It is expected that by 2022, the gaming industry will rapidly rise here.
In addition to the infrastructure facilities completed in Clark Global City, there are two office buildings with an area of 57,000 square meters and a general hospital with 173 beds.
Clark Global City has reached an agreement with nine local developers, and has held project promotion conferences in many regions of China, including Hong Kong and Beijing, and Tokyo, Japan, to attract foreign investors.
New Clark’s future development requires investment support from multiple sources. Apart from the funding of the Philippine government, it is of course also inseparable from the participation of investors from all over the world. China may be the largest investor in Clark in the future.
In the early years, the Philippine government and China Construction Bank have reached an agreement that the two sides will have a five-year cooperation to help finance the Clark New Town project.
Compared with the same period in 2017, from January to May 2018, the Philippines received a 534% increase in net investment from China. It is expected that Clark will become a hot spot for Chinese investment.
